The first story that I would to discuss is Misdemeanors. I enjoyed this little story, gave me a chuckle. Not sure if there was a deeper meaning within the story, but it definitely will give you a chuckle. I am curious about how it ends though, "Thank God he wasn't trying to steal horses", was that suppose to be a pun or has a meaning? It's really funny, he attempted to rob a bowling alley, I used to work at a bowling alley, been around them my whole, practically grew in them and could never understand why or who would want to rob a bowling alley? I just really enjoyed this little sorry.
The next story that caught my eye was Wallet by Allen Woodman; once again, another funny one, this one probably the funniest. I have never heard of anyone ever doing that, what the old man does is genius. On the real, the story points out a few things; first the frustration of the old man and is comedic solution is priceless, definitely seems like it would work. Next, the relationship between father and son seems evidently strong, the participation from the son is Love. I definitely will have to try this out. I really like the quote "All oyster, no pearl" in reference to his imitation wallet, great comparison. The quote can be used to described so many things in life, I definitely will be using it.

City Of Eclouge
I'm not really a creative person, it puzzles me why I decided to take a Creative Writing Course, but I especially have a hard time with poetry. I'm a straight forward guy, so what I read I take it as that, not really interested or looking for a deeper meaning. Reading and Discussing City Of Eclouge, I was kind of lost because I couldn't grasp what really was being said, but with my group, I listened and was able to catch on. I noticed I need to listen in order to understand and when I read, don't take the words not necessarily so literal.
My favorite reading would have to be page the section "Beauty's Standing". I definitely like page 41, how Roberson highlighted Artificial vs. Natural beauty and he focus on how the media's idea of what beauty is are overshadowing the fact that true beauty is the natural beauty. A great line that speaks to what point he was getting across was "into land people pour into colonize as artificial reef is sunk next to dying corals on the sea floor", my take on that is he is saying that when beauty is fake and can last forever, natural beauty can die and can replaced. In today's society, beauty is what's portrayed in the media, has to do so much with cosmetics, clear skin, long hair, particular body shape ..
Page 46 of "Beauty's Standing" was another section I found intriguing. It was discussing Family Values and Politics. It was connecting to how Politicians are campaigning, advertising, marketing themselves, trying to sell themselves to us, telling us what right they're going to, what changes they're going to make. Putting emphasis on how family is the most important thing to them. What we see is the candidate bashing from them, particularly how they we're calling out President Obama on being Muslim, how is they relevant to his Presidency. These candidates want to bash him, but are not paying attention to what change is he about and what he wants to do for well-being of America. Roberson pointed out the true intentions of Politicians and what modes of method they use in order to get support and votes. They tell us what we want to hear, but plan on doing another thing. In today's society, everybody is about them self and Politicians are a great example of that.

Poetry Packet (Shakespeare, Mullen & Berrigan)
First off, I'm horrible at interpreting and understanding Poetry, especially Shakespeare, but I gave it a conscience effort, here it goes.
Starting with the Shakespeare Sonnets, we didn't really go over all of them, but re-reading them, I really was interested in Sonnet 129 & 130 .. Reading 129, Shakespeare seems to be indulging in love and the effects or experiences of Love and then reading 130, totally different read, he went fantasy to instant reality. He compliments then tears her down with crudeness. A particular line I found interesting was " ..And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare As any she belied with false compare", I look at that as him saying, no matter how beautiful you may look, that's not what's important.
Next, I really enjoyed reading Harryette Mullen's "Dim Lady". Reason is because of her usage of terms of endearment, she really spoke to be familiar to anyone read this sonnet. Her terminology was something I could visualize, imagine really happening. It's REAL, not no fantasy poem of made up life.
Lastly, the Ted Berrigan "XV" Sonnet, it was slick, I had never read a poem like that, well after what was suggested, because reading it just straight down, difficult as hell, but after using the suggestion, Genius. It was simple and creative ..
